Arif
Car still won't start. All the electrical accesories are working (radio, wipers, lights, etc) but still not getting anything on the ignition side. I did get a spark when I tapped the starter with a screwdriver but nothing happens when I turn the key. I hear a clicking noise from the passenger side footwell. Everything works except the car won't start. I even retraced my steps when I installed the slave cylinder. Everything seems to be hooked up right. Any other ideas? yo2001
May be a bad EFI relay. You got aftermarket ECU though right?
Z-Gad
probably stuff you already checked, but... signal wire to starter hooked up? Try jumping the car (weak battery) starter could be frozen from sitting... it is probably something simple...usually is...
Sumo
You may have a bad ignition switch?
A. G. Olphart
Your clicking noise sounds an awful lot like the starter soleniod trying to do it's job, but not succeeding. When the solenoid contacts get bad enough, or the voltage low enough (dead battery or poor battery post contact) the clicking is all you get. Do you have a good ground strap between the engine and the body? A free quick battery/connectivity test is to have a friend sit in the car and try and start it while the headlights are on. If the lights go out or way dim when the starter is energized, you have inadequate battery voltage under load. (See above).
