Guest Rangerz
I did a search and didnt come up with anything. I am installing an Aeromotive RRFPR and a Z-Car Creations finned fuel rail. It looks like I need to run a line through a y-block from the tank to the FPR as well as to the fuel rail. Is this correct? or can I just cap off the other inlet port on the FPR? SleeperZ
I assume you are trying to plumb a fuel injection setup in a L28 Z? Are you sure the regulator is a rising rate unit? I was not aware Aeromotive made one. I know they make linear rate regulators for carb setups and for fuel injection setups, which one do you have? A typical aftermarket fuel rail install for a fuel injection setup runs much like the factory system: The pump line passes through a filter to one end of the fuel rail, the other end of the rail connects to the pressure regulator, and the return from the regulator is plumbed to the fuel tank return. A pressure reference is then run from the plenum to the reference port on the regulator.
Guest Rangerz
I have the A1000-6 Injected Bypass Regulator, P/N 13109. What you are saying is how I originally thought it should go. But I then saw a diagram in the 280z fuel injection book that the fuel came from the tank, through a filter, fuel pump and then splits withat a 3-way splitter, one line going to the fuel rail and one line going to port #1 on the FPR. From the other end of the fuel rail it goes into port #2 of the FPR, and the back to the tank. I dont know how to post an image, but you should get the idea. This is being installed on a 3.0L L6 with a JWT sport 450 kit into a 1970 240z. Thanks for your help![/img]
SleeperZ
Yes, the factory rail is a loop. A friend of mine is just now setting up a bypass regulator setup, similar to a carbureted regulator setup, where the pressure line goes to the regulator first, and pressure is regulated there. A pressure line is then tee'd off to one end of the rail, and the other end is plugged. I believe he is using the same Aeromotive regulator you listed, and that is how Aeromotive recommended he plumb it - however, that's because of the regulator design. In theory this should work for fuel injection, but I don't know how well it works in practice, as he is not up and running yet.
Twentyfourouncer
Just cap it off, I have the same regulator.
