Guest rick458
On a scale of 1-5 where 5 is a turbo350 on your chest and 1 is changing a tire, how hard is it to change out the bushings on a 260?
Guest ON3GO
could be from a 3 to a 5.. cuz sometimes things you have to take off to get to a bushing or 2 just wont come off... mike
PETEW
It's not that bad. More a pain in the butt than anything. The hardest thing you will run into is having to cut out some metal sleeves to put in the new poly bushings. You can do this job in a weekend, no problem. Good luck. gramercyjam
Gotta disagree here. Yes, I agree that it can be done in a weekend. But, most people will not do it in a weekend. In fact, many will just give up when they get to the part where the spindle pins need to be removed. I'd say plan for a "4" and hope it is a "2". PETEW
Crap! I forgot about the spindle pins. Never mind what I said about easy, they are a pain. Everything else is pretty easy, and shouldn't be a problem. All it takes is time and patience. (And the right tools ) Good Luck.
240hoke
I guess just swapping in the bushings wont be too bad of a task, I think the guys above have said just about right. I think another thing that really depends on how long it takes you is how much detail you put into it. I know when i had every suspension piece of my z laying on the floor there was no way i could resist the urge to clean and paint everything to make it look nice, if you get caught up with this it will take u a bit longer. Btw i would just go ahead and order new spindle pins so you can vent all your anger on the orginal ones. -Austin
Guest rick458
I am thinking about POR-15ing the suspension while its out, I need to replace the shok/struts and springs as well
383 240z
I did mine in one weekend. The key is the spindle pin puller!!! get your name on the list and the job is a walk in the park!! I found the best way to get the old ones out is a good drill with a few 1/4" bits and just drill the hell out of the rubber until the center is free the cut the outer sleeve with hacksaw clean up any burrs you may have made, put some lube on the new bushings and push them in with your hand or a 4" c-clamp.
