I fired my rebuilt motor today after 2+ years of building! Specs: 350 punched .30 over 1.92 double hump heads - ported polished Hi/Po Springs Magnum Cam 270H 224 duration intake and Exhaust, .470 lift. in/exhaust Edelbrok Performer intake headers 10:1 flat top pistons 600 Holley vac. secondary, single feed Holley Blue Pump I cannot get the motor to idle though. I have to keep feathering the gas. I run the Holley Blue pump at 7psi and adjusted the idle screws on both sides 1.5 turns out and I have not put any vacuum lines on this carb yet. I wonder if this is the problem? Do you guys have any input? I am not running any advance off my HEI yet and I just tried to plug all vacuum lines off carb for now. My engine seemed to lope. I cannot tell if its the cam profile or if its missing some with the open pipes. Would my cam have a lope with this profile? Must get my driveshaft made now and then ready to roll it! Corzette Posted November 1, 2003 Share Posted November 1, 2003 D75, definately plug all vaccuum lines and then set your throttle cable idle screw in or out to desired RPM and reset your idle air fuel screws again. It should be fine. With open headers its hard to tell whats lope and whats not. After I put my mufflers on most of the lope went away. Open headers sounded like rump rump rump rump....
