Guest Anonymous
many people have said this is stupid, to v8 a z31 when you could just get a turbo. but i want to do it anyway. i figured i could get a cheap 350/turbo 350 from somwhere local for about $300. rip out the wiring from my Z, get an electric fan, fab some motor mounts, cross member, driveshaft, and it might work. but will the stock rear hold up all the power from a v8? it holds up the 400+hp turbo z31s, so it should, right? but for all the money and effort, would it be worth it? go ahead
pparaska
There was a guy "dr. pete" that did this, but I don't know how it turned out. His web site kept changing ISPs so I don't know how to get ahold of him. I say if you want to do it, do it!
David K
yes i would say do it also! there has to be guys like you that take the first step to starting something cool, ala hybrid guys!
ZR8ED
I know a guy who has a 350 in his 87 300zx 2+2. He had a turbo engine. He likes the low end grunt of the v8 but thinks his turbo engine (i/c'd with 15psi) was quicker in the top end. BTW he modifying his Z with one of those saleen bodies.... yea.. he nuts.. needs to widen the suspension by 8" to fit the kit..
Guest Anonymous
Take lots of pics for reference points and make some templates for your mounts as this could be the next hot hybrid, especially since they are plentiful and don't usually have alot of rust.
