Guest Riker
Here in europe, it's freaking scary that people are buying moer and more turbo diesel cars... anyway, my friend bought one, and want's to know can he put a blow off vent on his turbo diesel engine? SleeperZ
Depends on whether the engine has a throttle. My commuter car has the accelerator linked to the injector pump, and has no throttle. Without a throttle, a BOV is pointless.
SHANE
diesel's do not have a throttle plate, there is no reason at all for a BOV on a diesel since there is no throttle to close and back feed to the turbo.
Guest d9
I drive a VW Jetta turbo diesel (TDI) 100 miles one way to work, five days a week. The Jetta is "drive by wire". There is no mechanical connection to any throttle on it. BTW the little turbo will do 24 psi peak and 17 psi non stop. Awesome little car. 48 MPG at 75-85 mph all day long. I just NEED speed. ZXT swap into a 78 Z on the burner. d9
