Has anyone gone from a SD system to a MAF System?

Recommended Posts

I want to convert my 93 LT1 from a Speed Density System to a MAF system so that I can change the computer out to a 94-97 ECM.

So can anyone give me some kind of information on this or where some can be found?

Thanks a lot!

I have a 96 Corvette LT1 that has been converted to speed density by Howell Engineering. I did not have the conversion done, I bought my engine out of a wrecked 84 Camaro that was professionally upgraded. I think the conversion was done to allow for easier intake plumbing. This motor does use the stock 96 computer. On the side of the computer there is writing in marker indicating that it was a 6 speed MAF setup but is now a Automatic/ Speed density setup. You may want to contact Howell Engineering about your question.

Good Luck

I have not done the swap but the parts you will need are the 94 to 95 PCM the 94 to 95 MAF and I think the 94 to 95 knock sensor you may also want to install 94 and up intake. You will have to rewire the motor. You will need tuning software go to www.tunercat.com and a cable go to www.wotelectronics.com and a laptop or computer in the garage. With tunercat you can also use all the hardware above except the MAF and run in speed density and still tune. What setup do you have now and why do you want MAF?
