Guest bastaad525
speed limiters suck Just another reason I love old cars Moby - are you saying that if my little black box on the side of the coil ever goes bad (the stock turbo ignition module) that I can replace it with a $15 GM HEI module? Or is that something that only applies to people running MS&S? If it matters at all I have an '81 motor with crank mounted sensor, and am running an MSD blaster 2 coil. No MSD ignition unit at the moment the ignition is just stock right now.
Tony D
WOOHOO! That's the info I needed! You da man Moby! I'm off to download the files now. And off to autozone for that "hot spark" GM chip! Thanks a million!
mobythevan
are you saying that if my little black box on the side of the coil ever goes bad (the stock turbo ignition module) that I can replace it with a $15 GM HEI module? It depends on the signal from the stock computer, but if it is the wrong plarity it would be easy to invert it. At the moment I think it would work to replace the ignitor transistor with the HEI module. If I had the old setup with stock computer still in the car I would try it out, but its too late for that.
