JoeinCA
Hey guys, it has been a while since i posted, I have been extrememly busy with school. Yesterday the temperature dropped to about -20, and froze my coolant in my truck (88 chevy silverado 2500), which made the side tanks leak, and now i am hitching rides with friends. great... I was wondering if anyone knew of a good site to buy a real radiator to fit my truck, Not one of those stupid little aluminum/plastic deals i have on there now. I want a STEEL radiator. 28 1/4" X 17 1/4" X 1 1/4 is the size i need, with an oil cooler. I have found a few different places that stock the radiator, but they do not say what company made them. I would like to get an all steel modine radiator... thanks for any suggestions, Joe
Guest Smooth Operator
Sorry I can't help ya out anymore than this, but if you don't have the JTR book... In the back of the book it says they (Stealth Conversions) stock the Modine radiator. Part# DAT-121, $149, 30 lbs. Part#DAT-120 is the Chevy radiator, $170, and 30 lbs. But on thier site (https://shell7.tdl.com/~jags/Datsun_Order.html), part# DAT-120 is 149 and 30 lbs and listed as "Datsun Z Aluminum Radiator." Part# DAT-121 isn't on the list. So you may want to give them a call and confirm if it's the Modine. I'm about to pass out so sorry if this all came out as rambling.
Sparky
-20! Holy crap, the coldest weather I have ever been in would have to be -5 but with no wind. How the hell do your hands even work when its that cold? mine are just extra numb weight in those temps. le-brrrrrrrrrr!
Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
Hee hee, here in Sac, I think the coldest I have seen was about +28. I can check with a shop here for a part number for a modine replacement. There is a shop here that only uses modine. I dunno about with oil cooler or not, but I can check.
