Guest bastaad525
Well... the turbo 240 is less and less frequently giving me problems these days (check sig for setup)... was actually getting 'comfy' to a point where I almost felt like the car was 'done'... what a fool I decided to sit down and just make a short little list of things I still had left to do, some essential, some not so essential... but just something so I could keep track. I'm sure all of you have one of these, maybe just in your head, and I get the feeling mine probably is relatively 'short' compared to some of you guys! Ah well... anyways... just for the hell of it, here is my list of things I still need or want to do to my car, in no particular order. Today I'll rearrange them in some sort of order so I can figure out which ones to do first and which ones can wait. My X-mas Wish List Adjustable FPR or RRFPR Better fuel pump I/C plumbing (already have the I/C) and installed Fuel pressure gauge New fuse box (mine starting to melt) New combo light/windshield wiper switch Front/rear strut tower bars Some form of programmable fuel control: HKS S-AFR Megasquirt SDS Or just switch to a Z31 setup '83 dizzy to replace my '81 crank mounted CAS MSD 6A or 6AL (to replace the one that recently died) MSD boost timing retard controller ZX brake upgrade Fix my front air damn (it's polyeurethane and is warped, from what I dont know but it's always been that way... need to straighten it out) Gtech (Pro would be nice) Rear wing EGT and/or Air/Fuel gauge (WB of course) Water/Alchohol injection setup 3.7 LSD 2.5" mandrel bent DP (two 45* angles) 3" mandrel bent exhaust T3/04 Bigger injectors NGK spark plug wires Door weather stripping (both are completely gone) Brighter headlights Interior trim (most of the vinyl stuff in the back and roof liner are gone) Console armest cushion/cup holder thing Seat belts Radiator overflow tank Aluminum radiator 240sx throttle body Battery tiedown (using a bungie cord now) Crank breather filter Nice chrome pipe to mount my K&N intake filter on, right now it's just off the front of the AFM Ceiling light (that comes on when your door opens, mine doesn't work) Sun visors Good leather covered steering wheel Nice rims and tires (running 'swastika' ZX rims with crappy tires) Steel braided lines Plastic wraparound wire covers to clean up the engine bay Fix all the dents on the body and get a REAL paintjob Racing stripes I'm sure there's more... isn't there always? Guest ON3GO
well i would start off with the parts that will make the car more enjoyable to drive, like better height lights, the fuse box, radiator, weather stripping. you can also do a few performance mods like say the better exhaust and the downpipe. also better tires for those rims or like you said new wheels and tires. just make the car safer to drive at night, day, rain, etc. thast what im gonna do when my Z is driveable.. new weather striping, better seats, the fuse box, fix the dash, install carpet or the 240Z interior. best of luck and keep us posted. also happy Thanksgiving. mike
