innerware
Quick question about sway bar bushings. I replaced the front and the rears with uerathane bushings. The rear ones were real hard to seat. After I got them in ( with the use of a jack to push up the bar) I have noticed a creaking, clunking sound at the rear. Is this cause I had to force them in? Did I need to grease the connection to the rod? Is it because it is too tight that it is making that sound? I couldn't find anyone witha problem likw this in the seach. So I hope some one can help. Thanks as always, Kyle
Guest Anonymous
Wrap the bar in teflon tape before you put the bushings on. That will cut down on a lot of the creaking sounds. Mark
260DET
That sounds like a great idea Mark. The tape should not attract dirt, like grease does, either.
Guest 240hybrid
My instructions that came with my MSA bars say to lightly coat the inside of the bushings with a Moly-Sulfide grease. I don't know what a Moly-Sulfide grease is, but contentrated Silicone grease is what came with my rear end/control arm bushings from MSA. I had some pretty bad creaks and squeels from my rear end after not applying enough grease, and all I had to do was apply some more to remedy the problem.
