I know, its not related to cars or anything mechanical, but...Man, I went and rode horses with my sister (owns 3 of them) and boy what a blast. I used to ride when I was younger, but it has been about 8 yrs. since I had rode till last Sunday. Horses have a great deal of power and must be respected, especially when the one your riding takes off at full gallop (full run) through a small 6' wide trail in the woods. I was hanging on for dear life, dogging tree limbs, but having a blast too even though I was scared at the same time. Finally slowed the horse down and couldn't see my sister (bring up the rear) for a good minute or so. Horses are always testin you to see what they can get away with and boy was it a wild test for both of us. :o

I thought I would just share my experience as it was pretty exciting, 1 horsepower is a pretty amazing beast and would recommend anyone with the chance to get on one and give it a try. Great fun and its hard to beat what nature can offer, but the Z does just by a bit. Both are great cardiovascular workouts after a wild ride.

Also, it's been a work related dream to have someone else carry ME on their back ....

No chaffing here, just a bit of muscle sorness on the inside my thighs from using my legs to turn the horse. They respond well when you apply pressure with your legs while turning. I knew that there would be a joke like that though, and no I don't walk funny now. lol

You think the 1 horsepower is a lot from on it, wait till you stand behind it. Then you will be gland it is only 1 horsepower. That 1 horsepower knocked me out cold, just by catching my knee. Lucky i could walk after. Ironically, two years later i finally go to the doctor after knee problems in that knee and my knee cap hangs to the side.

Ahh Good for you 240hybrid!

It's been about..god..14 years since I've ridden.. I used to almost everyday for many years when I worked on a ranch.. They are powerful animals! And they literaly 'Leap off the line' and almost instanly redline..

They also corner well and have the most impressive braking power!

They are quite exhilirating

Biomechanics are quite impressive to say the least.. a Cheetah can go from 0- to 40mph in as little as two strides!

I keep telling you guys: It's not the horsepower, it's the torque!!

The 4 'wheel' drive doesn't hurt either!

Good one Tim... Need to make that a sticky. :P

Yeah, getting cow kicked by a horse is no fun. I talk to the horses when I come close so I don't spook them, and try to stay away from their hind quarters even though they know me pretty well. Yeah I know what you mean plainswolf, their up and off in no time, and very agile animals.

Dsommer, I can understand you not liking them, they do test you all the time and try to get away with stuff. But like they say, if you fall off the horse, get back on. As for hating them, I think they can sense people's vibes and such and will give you bad vibes in return.

Yeah, the vibes play off real big. I worked at a frm that trained race horses. They feed off your vibe mostly, except the one that was trying to rape me, i dint think i gave off that vibe. I have never jumped as high then to jump a fence than i ever did playing basketball. A 7 foot tall fence is pretty small when you hear their thing beating against their stomach and you hear em running at ya.
