Guest 240zxt
I did a seach on this but I really didnt find any answers. I'm getting ready to install an L28et in my 72. Would the painless wireing (universal 18 circuit) be the best option? I've also heard of EZ Wiring. Are they any good? The wiring threw out the car is pretty bad with electical tape and random wires everywere. Will the 18 circuits cover everything that I need for a stock 240 (lights etc.), the turbo engine, electric locks and windows, and a stereo? By the way, Im really considering going with a SDS distributorless EMS. Would this change anything? Thanks guys
240zprace
try a micro tech system, you can data log vs sds
Guest 240zxt
Do you need a laptop to use thouse? I was thinking the SDS because it would be nice and simple. Would using one of these affect which harness I need to get?
Guest bastaad525
I too would be very interested in using something like a Painless harness to replace the aging stock turbo harness in my car now... I'm planning on sticking with the stock efi system for the most part though, at least for now. Can I use the harness for that?
ToplessZ
looks like some of us are confused here or maybe its just me. The Universal 18 circut harness isnt going to have alot to do with fuel system choices. The engine harness is a seperate harness and the 18 circut universal harness no matter what brand isnt going to replace that. However on the subject of rewiring I plan on going this route myself and adding power windows and locks hopefully.
Guest 240zxt
I know it's a separate harness, I just didnt know if that would affect it at all.
Jason Jarvis
I have the EZWiring 18 circuit kit, but I haven't done anything with it yet. It is going into a car that will be completely rewired. Only issue I have with it is some of the wires seem a little light to me, but I plan to realy everything that could be an issue, so no problem there, plus they are heavier than most new cars. Whichever one you use, you will still need a fuel injection harness, they are not inculed in any othe the 18 circuit style kits I have seen. You can make one up fairly easily I think, depending on what you want to use. I plan to make on for my Megasquirt, but it would be that same idea for any aftermarket FI unit. Where in NC are you ?
