Guest jjohart
I just got off the phone with Centerline, and they told me that their remaining wheels for Z's don't always work out on ZX's. They mentioned calipers hitting the rims, or some suspension bits bumping...he didn't give me a list of specifics, just enough to make me feel warned if I choose their brand, which I think is pretty nice. I'd be interested to hear if any ZX or ZX Turbo owners have used these wheels with/w.o incidental difficulties. I know they're selling em to get rid of them, but I'd hate to spend $400 and have problems using them!
Guest ZmeFly
Im running Centerline Convo Pros that I bought from a member here. If you click my link you will see them on my car, and I have no problem with them at all.
Guest jjohart
From the looks of it, your 280ZXT is stepped front and rear..what are the tire sizes, pros and cons of your set up. The Centerline site says your back wheels are "drag racing" style...what do they mean, are they suited for day to day driving or just at the strip? Thanks John-nr. Guest ZmeFly
I have 15x7 front and 15x8.5 rear, I got the idea from another member here Jeffp. The tires Im running are 205 55 15 up front and 225 50 15 in the rear, Jeff runs 225 55 15 up front and 245 50 15 in the rear on his car. I use the everyday with no problems at all. The car is a fun and daily driver. The only down side is that you have to have them drilled for the 4 bolt pattern as they dont make them that way. I was told by Jeff that this costs 30 a wheel. To me if I had to do it again and buy them directly from Centerline it would be worth it. I think they look and peform great. Not to mention they are about 6-7lbs lighter then the stock wheel. David K
I ran 15x8 centerlines on my old zx. The offset was not correct, but it was ok to drive carefully, and the tires wouldnt rub on the fenders. The wheels bolted right up. They were super light, and the car felt slower when i changed those wheels for a set of turbo wheels.
tec280zx
Used to run 16x12 on my zx. Just to see if they fit though...don't use em anymore since the backs stick out too much... . Didn't rub though.
Phantom
I've got some 16x7 Centerlines with 0 offset on my 77. I spose I could jack up the 83 that's next to it and confirm they will fit. Uless you go really wierd - I would think any 14, 15, 16 or 17x7 wheel with a 0 offset should work with up to 225 width tires without interfereing with the stock suspension, brakes, or body parts. The Zx is running 14x6.5 wheels now with 0 offset and 205 width tire. It has the room for 225's.
