Tekira
I just bought triple mikunis for tod walrich and iam haveing a bit of a hard time finding someone who will set them up and tune them down here in georgia. I had one guy tell triple mikunis were junk! hahah. the only place i havent talked to is sunbelt performance engines. so if any one knows a place in georgia, i live north of atlanta, that will set up my carbs that would be great. Thx, Josh.
Mike kZ
Sunbelt should be able to help you.
datsunlover
Junk eh? Funny how millions of ski-doo's and bikes have used Mikunis for year's and years! Usually ppl who say carbs are 'junk' just don't understand how to tune them. Mind you 3 carbs are a chore to tune/syncronise... and it's getting hard these days to find a person who knows what rhey are doing..
Tekira
Yeah the guy told me to throw them in the trash! what a dumbass. The mechanic had a 280z but it was fuel injected so i think he doesn't want put them on because he is to lazy to learn how to tune them. My friend works there and thats what he said about the guy. Its always great when people dont really know what they are talking about but act like they do anyway. Well thx guys i knew sun belt was going to be the way to go, the best as they are. Now all i need is to fresh'n up the suspension and ill be set. Thx, Josh.
Guest 240hybrid
I just recently heard of a place in Marietta that's pretty well knowledged in Zcars. The guy I talked to said that the owner is Eddy Ratiz (spelling?)...the name rang a bell when I heard it. I wish I knew the name of the shop to refer you to them, I'll email the guy I heard it from for the phone # and name of the place. I do all my own work, but it's always good to have a reputable shop that knows Zs as a backup or for consulting. Sunbelt will be a good idea though (especially since race season is over), Balance performance is right next to them and they can tune it on a dyno if needed, but I'm not very learned on triple mikunis so not sure it thats totall necessary or not? Mikunis is the way I would go if I went with carbs on a NA setup. Good luck. Chase
Tekira
Thats great news, marietta is much easier for me. I think my ex-mechanic ,the idot, said something about him but i dont totally remember. If you could get me their contact info that would be great. Thx, Josh
Guest Boyd
Try Ira Wassinger at Foreign Automotive here in Opelika, AL. He should be able to help you or at least point you in a good direction.
Drax240z
It's harder and harder to find someone able to set up triples... I would try to find a competant motorcycle mechanic if all else fails, as they've been dealing with multiple carbs for years.
Guest z-pilot
I just finished installing triple 44mm Mikunis yesterday. I had bought them off of ebay. What a difference, definitely not junk. I tuned them using a "Colortune" transparent spark plug. My engine was a L28 stroked to 3L with an agressive cam. The car would not idle well with the stock 71 carbs. With the Mikunis, the car idles smoothly, accelerates like a banshee, and it stopped dieseling. I am totally sold. I did not expect such a night-and-day difference. The Colortune made tuning quick and easy. Luckily, no jets had to be replaced, although the fuel jets seem to be available from motorcycle shops. Tekira
Yep i think ill go with the color tune then ill take them down to sunbelt to have to perfectly. Good thing about todd walrich is he pre sets up the carbs for you. just give him the engine spec and he will put in the approate jets size and tune preaty darn close, really just needed a idle adjustment. thanks for the input. ill get pix of the bad boy on the car as soon as i can, Thx, Josh.
