If you have the zx motor running good, just stage I that motor - - like you are thinking, nice exhaust, monster k&n intake kit, really good plugs, synthetic oil. And if you have some loot to spend work the suspension in that car. The zx is a really nice gt, but its a little soft to drive. Get some nice shocks, wheels coil overs maybe and if you want to blow some loot put a big brake kit on the car. If you really get crazy port and polish the heads. Take the advise of someone who has a very fast car... you need to work your way into it. frank280zx Posted January 7, 2004 Share Posted January 7, 2004 i still think you better stick with the l28ET since it can make 300 to 400 HP if you want that, and is plug and play as where w a lot higher maintance vgdet engine does not, it makes around 200 HP in stock form on the us market and 229 on the european market. there is in my opinion no advantage as being a better power platform between a vg ar a L engine, at least not big enough to go through all the hassle, when you would swap 300ZXTT ok. or RB but atherwhise why create $$ problems If you really want to have a good ( ok this is disputable guys) swap, swap to l28ET with a 83 T5 trans r200 (LSD )out of a 86t ( in europe they have LSD in 86 dont know how it is in the states any input?) get some good utherane bushings and shocks an IC, raise the boost to 15 orso and have fun that will get you close to 200 on the wheels. when you or your dad for that matter gets bored with it, get some bigger injectors a megasquirt system, a t03/04 turbo, and the sky is the limit (300> HP) even 500 to 600 is possible ( JEFFP) all on a l28et why go hassle for same power you can get plug and play? let us know Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
