2004 G35 sport rims or 350z rims anyone tried on early car?

i bought myself a xmas present and am going to try a set of the g35 Sport model rims on my 73 Z -

wondering if anyone has tried this already or not and has pics to see?

most interested in the 18x8" size from the sport model G35 (nicer than 350z rim IMO)

obviously coilovers and 5 lug are a prerequesite -- just curious as i have just bought them online ($1200 for the set with tires) and waiting for them to arrive...

i'll post pics this week once i have them installed --

if they work out i will have a set of the 300zx rims coming off for sale - these are `16x7.5" from NA car --i had them fully polished. with michelin tires 60% left . as seen in the sig file..

Mike, if the z you are putting them one is your yellow on in your sig, then they should fit fine, since it looks like you got the z32 wheels working on there fine. A fellow with a z31 over here in the SoCal area is using 350z wheels, bolted right up. If you can bolt those z32 wheels up to your 240, the 350z/g35 wheels should go right on too.

got them this morning-- just put them on -- the offsets are a bit different than the Z31 NA rims i had on it - took off over 3/4" of the rear spacer-

fronts fit perfect with the spacer that was there before-

shall post a pic later tonite or tomorrow-- after i take a pic with my other new present a G5 canon..

Man, I thought about what those rims would look like on an S30...well now I know!! Super cool looking I'd say! Props for being the first guy I kow of to do that--you got a super deal on them as well IMO.

I'm curious, what is the weight of the factory 18"x8" rim?

thanks...!

i've only seen one other early car with 18"s on it-- the red one from AL?

wasnt sure if they'd be too big but i think they fill the wheelwell nicely now-

oh and the center caps from the Z31 wheels fit right in!

Now i "need" bigger brakes as even the Skyline GTR ones look small !

not sure on rim weight but with the tire it was about 40 lbs per for shipping

they were heavier than the 16'S I took off

as for price i missed a set 2 weeks ago on ebay for $1100

i chose this set as shpping was only $50 for the set-- close to home!

there are LOTS of take off wheels happening now so a lot of options -

245/45/18's clear nicely under the rolled lip and 1/2" clearance to the inside

The 200sx is a L16 a little tiny 1600cc thats about 200HP from Rebello...

and for the earlier posts -- i have had the coilovers for years and 5 lug -- just changed up to larger rims-- ahh the benefits of coilovers and 5 lug- :D

the top is custom made-- start with a TR6- spitfire and a MGB and cut them up and make a puzzle -- then lots of welding-- the cars been a convertible for around 20 years so likely one of the first-

yes spacers--- too

fronts about 1/2" - these are the same ones i used on the car with the Z31 rims

rears now down to 1/4" spacer where before it was over 1" !

i have 91 TT front brakes with skyline replacement x-drilled rotors and 88 type floater hub- and the rears are stock 91 300zx TT

if anyone want the old 16x7.5" rims $600 for the set with tires (no center caps)
