80LS1T
I have found a wiring harness for my 93' LT1. It's out of a 94' LT1 but it is from a auto tranny car and my set up is for a T56. Will this wiring harness work? Or is there different connectors for the auto tranny? Thanks a lot guys!
Guest Anonymous
I'm not sure about all of the connectors but I would bet that most are the same. However the 93 cars had no mass air flow meter, they were a speed density system. 94 and newer had the mass air flow meters. I do know the connector of the T-56 is the same no matter the year. The 93 cars also had the 700r- auto. later cars, not sure what year had the 460le trans that was computer controlled. If you are using the t-56 you can just use the connector for the VSS and delete the wiring for the auto. the connector for the VSS is different for the t-56 to the auto. You will need to reprogram the computer for the t-56 instead of the manual. If a few of the connectors were different, They can be replace with the correct ones available at you local chevy dealership.
Guest Anonymous
I'd get the schematic for the harness in question, and what your running and just compare them. Where? I've found most big libraries have the service manual you want (this rather rocks, the Tempe library here has all of them which I didn't even think about looking at before), just photo it for a few bucks (also in the library) and a bit of studying and it should work. You may need to do something about the VATS in your computer (depending on what computer your using), I think both used a VSS (electric speedo hookup) and the auto harness may have one for the lockup converter which you won't use. A bit of midnight oil comparing the harnesses should give you a definite answer. Just a thought. Regards, Lone
80LS1T
Hey Mark, I know that the 93 is SD that is why I am swithcing to the 94-95 harness and computer. So that I can reprogram my computer as needed, but thats for all the help. So what I got so far is that it will work but I will have some extra wires. It's that what you guys are telling me? Thanks a lot guys!!!
Guest Anonymous
80-LT1, yes I believe this will work. Might want to do as was suggested earlier and get schematics for both wiring harnesses. I have seen that info on the net but not sure where. Do a search here and see if you can find it. I have a 94 service manual and a 93 schematic if you can't find it else where. 80LS1T
I have the Haynes manual but it shows the wiring schmatic for 93-95 engines and not much else on the tranny(as far as I saw anyway). Thanks, Guy

VRJoe
I was looking for more info on the 94 Z28 wiring harness then I could find in my Hayes manual. While searching I found alldata.com, they have the OEM manuals posted on the internet. It costs $24.95 for a years access. Additional cars can be added for $14.95. I signed up today for the '94 Camaro and have definately gotten my monies worth. you might want to give it a try. I suspect I'll be adding more cars to my subsdcription. You can print the info of even save it to disk. Let's see -- Helms $90.00, wait for shipping or alldata.com for $24.95 and I get it right now. No brainer since I only wanted to figure out the connectors on the underdash portion of the harness. -VRJoe
80LS1T
Hey VR thats a good idea. Now that I think about it I have that program at school. I am at Fox Valley Tech for Automotive Technology and we use that for all the cars we fix. I think I will print those schematics out!!! Thanks for reminding me.
