kalium99
I'm looking at a way I can get a stiffer ride in my 260z without going all out and buying new struts and springs. Im not after amazing handling, just osmething better than stock. Is it possible to section my struts and put in stiffer springs (with standard struts). I actually have access to some cheap Z31 tockico struts...is it possible to adapt these to an early Z (haven't had a chance to look at the Z31 units yet, so I have no idea). ? I'm primarily spending my money on the engine, and for the time being am happy to keep it with standard suspension, unless there is a cheap way to upgrade it to keep me happy until I start saving for all-out suspension upgrades. blueovalz
A sway bar upgrade front and back is where I'd start. This is easy to do and relatively inexpensive. A really good set of tires will do wonders as well. Then if this doesn't satisfy you, and you're industrious, springs could be the next upgrade, or poly bushings. I can't address the Z31 strut issues.
DatsunBoy77
300ZX struts wont fit. They are not inserts like on trhe first gen Z's.
