HICKL
A buddy of mine is recommending the POR 15 system for painting the engine bay on an old rusty mustang. It has a rust prohibiter coat and then a top coat that the call "chassy black". anybody used this stuff before?

Sparky
its good stuff...just dont get it on your hands. also...the engine bay is a rather large junk of metal. I would suggest using a flat black over a gloss or even semi gloss black. the gloss black will show every spec of dust, and every possible flaw...and its not like regular paint that you can just sand down and respray....it takes a great deal of effort to get the stuff off once youve painted it on. A good deal of the dust and marks can be reduced by spraying it on instead of brushing it, just be aware tht you dont want it anywhere near or in your lungs.
