Guest NorCalZ
Whats up people, Im a 17 year old rookie and I've never had this problem with my z yet. It is a 240 so theres only a mechanical pump. I am not getting fuel at all to my carbs. It isn't even getting to the pump. Is it the tank or do you think that maybe the lines clogged. Fuel Filter was just replace and totally clean. It is really pissing me off. I bought a new pump and all this shit and it didn't work. DAMN! I was considering taking the gas cap off and swithing the direction the pump pumped and see if it unclogged it by pumping air into the gas tank. hmmmm.... Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
I dont know about pumping air in, but you might be able to switch hoses on the fuel pump and hook up a hose into a gas can. I am not sure how good of an idea that would be though, if the line is clogged, and your hoses are old, you might actually burst the fuel line. As far as air goes, you might be able to take the line off from the incoming line for the fuel pump and use an air compressor to try to clear the line. If you try that, I'd use very short puffs of air to avoid too much pressure. You might also be able to disconnect the incoming line from the fuel pump and connect a new hose from the pump to a gas can to make sure that the fuel pump is actually working. I only make these suggestions as suggestions because I have never had this problem before, and working with any fuel problem is always potentially dangerous, so be careful! BTW, what part of NorCal? BillZ260
Id bet it's the tank, something clogging the pick up. I had this problem for a while but it was intermittant. I could hit the bottom of the pan with my palm and lossen the stuff up enough to run for a while, then it would clog up again. I am running a fuel cell now and got rid of the tank so that is all I got.
Guest NorCalZ
I think it is the tank too. The fuel pump works fine. The fuel line is as dry as a bone. So should I drop the tank out of there and shake it out. **** this really pisses me off now. Thanks for the replies dudes.
