Guest polarity
Sorry I'm sure this is a repost, but I've done a search and gone through 2 pages without finding what I need. I was planning a 350 swap but because I bought another car and some other things came up, I'm thinking I would rather do a turbo swap as it might be more cost effective to start, then I could build on it more later. That and I love the turbo sound and feel anyway. I have a 280ZX NA already. Without including any body work interior any of the "while I'm at it" stuff.. What would you say it might cost to put a turbo motor into the car. This would include buying the motor and rebuilding it (if needed).. Also if it would be easier to just buy certain parts from a turbo motor and swap onto my car, that would be fine aswell.. I'm really just looking for options. I'm going to call around and find out if there are any turbo motors for sale in my area. If anyone has the time a brief summary of what all is involoved in this swap would be great aswell. I belive it's just motor, harness, ecu, tranny. Thanks for all the help Billy

Guest polarity
Sleeperz thanks for the link but some of the questions were not answered in that thread. Would it be easier to swap an entire motor and not just some parts. Only other question is what should I look for when picking up the turbo motor? SleeperZ
Sleeperz thanks for the link but some of the questions were not answered in that thread. Would it be easier to swap an entire motor and not just some parts. Only other question is what should I look for when picking up the turbo motor? It is far easier to swap a whole motor, than just some parts, assuming you are starting from nothing. I'd make sure the oil isn't stinky, and the valvetrain is clean, with no badly worn lobes or rockers. If the car is running, do a compression test and wiggle the turbo impeller. My current engine (bone stock, replaced head gasket) I found in a U-pull-it for $150. After finding a bad turbo on it and pulling the head, I discovered it was a brand new '83 factory remanufacture. Compression tested within a psi across all 6.
