TomoHawk
Anybody know how those dingers you get in your new car work? Where would you get those. If it's cheap, I might try one. It might be a cool thing to replace that old buzzer in your Z...
BillZ260
Would try thees places Radio Shack? Radio INC?
TomoHawk
Radio Shaq doesn't have automotive dingers. Only regular buzzers and a couple beepers. One that dounds like a doorbell. I'm talking about the dingers they put in your new car.
Guest mkokimoto
1984 maxima has a nice one. It tells you that the key is in the ignition in a ladies voice.
TomoHawk
Does it tell you that somebody stole your tires too? LOL ROFL
Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
I imagine it wouldnt be too terribly hard to go to a JY and pull the circuit out of a car and wire it in place of the buzzer. You would need some level of electronics experience though, unless it is a really strait forward connection. If you wanna go that route, I may be able to check the wiring diagrams on your Z, and a newer car, and hook you up with a setup. You just like those creature comforts, dont ya? TomoHawk
Hooking it up shouldn't be hard once you know which wire from the dinger does what. The tough thing is knowing what it looks like- different cars have different ones, and in different places.
Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
...once you know which wire from the dinger does what.... I still dont know which wire from my dinger does what...
TomoHawk
Well.... You'd have to locate the wiring diagram or your car- or at least the part for the dash. Then you could (reverse engineer) thing to figure out what wire does what. At least that's what I think.

Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
Is there any particular model car that you know of that you like the dinger for? The one in my 89 honda prelude is actually pretty good sounding. Sounds new-car like, and not annoying. I am sure I could find one at pick-n-pull, and then I have the wiring diagram for the car too. TomoHawk
I likethe dinger in my Escort. It has a slow dinger for the key-in, and a faster one for the lights-on. The only thing I don't like about it it that it beeps, instead of dinging. Is it a dinghy?
Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
It's a beeper and a dinger. LOL, that sounds funny. I'll have to pay attention to it, cuz I normally dont, but I believe it beeps (sounds more like a computer beep tone) when the key is in the ign, and does a "ding, dink, ding, dink" sound when the lights are left on. Ah hell, where is a tape recorder when you need one..
