Guest goldraven
ok, so this day has sucked already, i went outside to my truck, flat tire, i look at the tire and there is a lovely nail that decided to go for a ride. i fix that, i go to where my car is, i just got a set of exhaust manifolds that i baught. (i thought they were the correct ones) but in fact they are different than the ones i need. check out the similarities. the one i need looks like this the ones i baught look like this i looked for the fact that it hooped up and over the power steering box...instead of looking to check that they were the same manifolds!!!...i baught the pair of manifolds you see on the bottom off of ebay thinking they were the correct ones...ahhhhh im so stupid. The problem was that the ones i baught do not bolt up to the 350 i have. which is surprising, so just to warn you guys, if you have a 350 out of a 89 truck, these headers dont bolt up. oh well, im just mad that i have to wait longer to get the right parts in. I guess i should take it as a learning process...right? thanks for putting up with this post... just tell me it was an honest mistake. EvilRufusKay
Don't worry man...I went through two sets of manifolds trying to mod them to work on my V8 Z before I decided to take a set of block huggers I had and mod them instead. Two weeks..tons of hours on the manifolds...10 minutes with an angle gringer on the block huggers and it works!!! Chalk it up as a learning expieience!! wheelman
GoldenRaven, That top manifold is from an LT1 correct? I have a set I pulled from a 1995 LT1. I'll sell them to you cheap if you want them. Make me an offer. I can send some pictures if you'd like me to. Ken W.
80LS1T
Just so you know goldraven the passenger side LT1 manifold does NOT work on the 280ZX in the MSA mounting position. I dont know what mounts you have for yours but I tried the passenger side on my LT1 and it hit the frame rail. Guy
Dan Juday
G.R., Tell us why it wouldn't bolt up. I can't believe GM changed the bolt pattern on the heads.
wheelman
Dan, I believe the manifolds he bought come from a Gen 3 engine (Vortec 5.3L or LS1), but I could be wrong. Ken W.
Guest goldraven
i am not sure what engine it came from, because the ebay auction listed it wrong, that was another factor in my mistake...is that the ebay auction was wrong. the right bolt didnt line up to the block
