Lockjaw
I doubt you will break mid 14's with a 2.4, a 2.8 can get down there. I would say a better guess would be mid 15's.
Guest bastaad525
yeah but overbored, running flat tops, hot cam, and a ported head? My L28 was good for a high 14 with much less work than he's got done... I figured the headwork would be worth enough to get him a little faster. I figure at least a 15 flat... but I dunno i never actually drove a Z with a 240 block in it so I dont know how big a difference that .4 liters makes. Guest norm[T12SDSUD]
Hey Lockjaw, I ran a 13.6 @ 99 mph with a 10.6:1 CR 2.4L I also ran a 13.4 @ 101 mph with a 9.6:1 CR 2.8L HP is not so much in the engine displacement as it is in the cam and headwork. later, norm
Guest bastaad525
that's what I was saying... that's what I KEEP saying... all the power is in the head. If he's had good headwork done and a good cam he should easily be good for mid 14's.
zero
The engine work appears to be very high quality, the car ran amazingly when I had it running. I never really got a chance to stretch it out because of other non engine problems, but it seemed very strong. Wow, I cannot wait to drive my car again...once i install those struts, and steering rack....and get some brakes...and.......
