BobsZTwins
I've got a SBC with a single turbocharger in a 260. I generates quite a bit of heat so I've been thinking about ceramic coating the exhaust manifolds, crossover and turbine housing. Anybody have any recommendations, good or bad? Thanks! tickwon
Another option I've gotten my stuff coated from Swain Tech. They do a good job. http://www.swaintech.com Chris
rreford
The company I work for makes resins for powder coating. The main tech guy swears to me that they've got powder coating resins now that can handle the temperature of exhaust manifolds.
getZ
Just make sure you coat the inside as well as the outside. Ceramic coatings do an excellent job of reflecting heat. My camaro headers are cool enough to touch with the bare hand after about 15 minutes of cooling off. You can use thermal wrap as well, but it's not as pretty and it's hard on the metal underneath. Downpipe before: After: This coating is good to 1300F For my turbo manifold, this coating is more $$$ but good to over 2000F: Before: After: Yasin[/img]
