danc
Guys: Not sure what happened to my post of 2 days ago, but..... I need to know if a R200 from a 300ZX is the same I.E. direct bolt on with no modifications to my 1983 ZX R200.... I have a 390.1 with a SBC and 700R4 which results in a big and quick first gear. I'm looking at a 354.1 out of a 300... Thanx as always.. Dan
zxgts-4
Hi Dan All Z31 r200s using tripod style driveshafts will retro fit into 280ZX with tripod style driveshafts but Z31 shafts aren't interchangeable as they are longer. Someone else might chip in to say whether Birfield 280 ZXT type shafts will fit Z31 diffs using similar birfield shafts. As Aus never got turbo cars I cant be sure. All the best Neil. Doug71zt
As long as the 300zx diff isn't a VLSD (Viscous limited slip) from a very late Z31 - you will have no problems bolting that rear into your 280zx. As you are talking about a 3.545 Ratio, it won't be limited slip (from the factory) so you will have no problems Cheers - Doug
