JKDGabe
I'd say probably... but after back surgery? Probably not the best idea. Not planning on doing anything else during that time I hope...
Heavy Z
Hypothetically speaking, yes it's possible. I've seen people on this site make godd time in the past, but I think 2 weeks would be a new record. Good luck
Guest Phil1934
Me too. I'm 50. No. My experience. There's the temptation to make everything right while you're in there, better axles, etc. Put the rear together today and could not find the a arm clamps or brake line retainers, but had the brackets off the new R200. One old brake line got wrung off. Still need to drop the tank to change rubber lines and clean out 10 year old gas. While changing pads, I saw rotors are thin, so bought new. Pulled the rear wheels to find one CI drum and one alum. drum. And put it together today just to move it, so get to drop the rear again later. Mandrel bends didn't fit in front of muffler, so have to piecut and tighten them. Even simple 300ZX wheel swap involved spacers and new studs front and rear. Still have to do the CV reversal. Driveshaft will have to be measured last, then ordered. Even engine was not drilled for small pattern starter so had to drill it. Blower intake did not have vacuum port so had to weld it to EGR block off plate. Bargain shopping of things like HEI also dictate waiting for the semi annual swap meet. And are you planning the whole shebang of frame rails and roillbar? If car is in good shape and you live in a big town where things can be had in a day and you work 10 hours a day you might do it, but it won't be very fun. BIGJIM
no way ill be able to do 10 hour days..lol....maybe 4-5 a day as i feel up to it. my back surgery will be last week of march or first week of april. i hope to be back to 80-100% after it but who knows. i think the 2 weeks might be quick, ill just take it as it comes. if i pull it off great, if it takes 4 weeks great. i just dont want it to be a year project that i dont finish and end up selling it all cause im sick of it..lol. im not doing a roll cage or anything like that. i want it to look stock from the interior. utvolman99
I have read about two guys (who had both compleated mutiple swaps in the past) compleating one on a three day weekend. It was a running stock 280 and the transplant was from a running truck that was wrecked. I think though they pretty much had all the parts (driveshaft, radiator etc...) just sitting there from another project that was also wrecked. Just to let you know though. I had originally planned on six months for my project. That was two years ago.
