  1. Thanks guys. It may well not be the original computer and a buddy came by yesterday and said he'd had that problem. '95 is supposed to be OBD1 right? The obd1 wouldn't even plug up and the obd2 did but didn't read it. I'll check the grounds and then look for a shop that knows what they're doing.
  2. I did search, I swear! I'm probably doing something wrong I know... It's running really rich. Will sometimes stumble badly from a start, once it loads up it takes off and runs fine from 2500-3500rpm then stumbles again. I replaced the MAF sensor and that made it alot better but it still does it sometimes. When the check engine light comes on it fixes the problem and runs like the proverbial bat. It had the o2 sensors replaced about 3k miles ago. I know the best thing to do would be have the codes read but have tried and it said the car wouldn't respond, don't know where to go to have it done now. It's a 95 Z28 btw. Any idea's on what to do?
  3. I don't have any running Z's anymore, just two parts cars. Make sure you check out the museum and dinosaur prints in the river while you're there. If the river is high enough it's fun to tube down it as well.
  4. Unfortunately that's the way it is. Unless you're in SoCal... and then you have to put up with wackos! I'll keep my eye out for ya though. You'll probably be better off watching the newspapers/greensheets etc as those who know what they have will advertise on the big sites and want the big bucks.
  5. Anybody ever heard of the Peter principle? We're the richest nation on earth, that's true. I've lived in several other countries and visited alot more for short periods and I've seen how government intervention works. Or should I say, DOESN'T work. Higher taxes lead to less productivity. It's simply human nature to do what you have to and no more. Yes, there are exceptions to the rule. Look at the trend, we're getting more socialistic. When does government give power back to the people? Only when forced and that usually takes war on some scale. The scale as I see it: family - neighbors - community. If you have no family then the neighbors should help and so on. When a major disaster strikes the neighboring community should help. But when government is expected to do it, why should we? I guess I'm just old fashioned and believe in the principles on which this nation was founded. (and it wasn't socialistic!) "The government that governs least, governs best." Jefferson Don't worry, I don't expect a penny for my thoughts. I gotta go to work, getting older as I sit here and type.
  6. They do have a "general" forum. Since I have a powerstroke I've never needed to go to another site... sorry! http://forums.thedieselstop.com/ubbthreads/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=UBB30

  8. Yes. For future reference the guy selling the "certification" is Ron Prather. Beware.
  9. If you missed out on the promotional offer on the back of the Wheatie's box, perhaps this one is for you! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=16044&item=7143066770&rd=1 I despise people like him.
  10. Thank you sir! If anybody knows of someplace closer to Hico/Waco I'd be interested.
  11. If you want the Bandit (600) just get it. There's no big difference between it and the SV650. The SV has a smoother powerband from what I understand. I started on a 600 Bandit, keep the rpm's down and you'll be fine. They're also cheaper than the SV. My little bro's selling his... (it used to be mine).
  12. C'mon, some of you speed junkies have gotta be using the stuff...
  13. I need a drum of it, anybody know where it's gonna be cheapest?
  14. I believe they're still working on the format. In any case it won't be 'til december and probably late december at that for the '05 calendar.
  15. Thanks! I did call, I just didn't want to drive 4 hrs to find he wasn't being completely honest with his description.
  16. Many thanks if you can. ftjw35mxrca23510 I hope I read that right...

  18. There's a ZXT in Houston that looks interesting but I can't make it down there right away. Can somebody check it out for me? I'll happily pay for the favor. I'm not concerned with cosmetics just structural and mechanical reliability. Surface rust doesn't scare me and neither does a ratty interior. located 1203 N.durham. Houston, Texas 77008 Come see any saturday 9-5 call or e-mail for appt. during the week. Dale 832-526-8166 zworld@sbcglobal.net 832-526-8166 Anyone?
  19. Are you sure it's not rentable? You might be surprised at how many people will di this. I don't know the area so this may not apply... put it up for lease with an option to purchase. Make it several years before they can exercise the option, the longer the lease period the less chance they'll actually buy it. No credit required since you're the owner, require a large cash deposit. The deposit should cover any damage they might do, since they're not renting they're responsible for maintenance. There are alot of people out there who have no credit and yet can come up with alot of cash for a down payment and if they don't follow through then what have you lost? You got some money out of it and can turn around and do it again. Obviously you'll want insurance in case it burns down etc. I know several people who use this method and swear by it... keep in mind what free advice is worth! Good luck! My dad & I just bought the house next door so I'm interested in knowing what you do with it and how it turns out.
  20. You mean she won't believe you're "more man" than most? J/K'ing!

  22. And he thinks it's a "new, improved set up"! Should I ever develop palsy and be blind in one eye and unable to see out of the other I'd still never post a pic of my welding if it was that bad.
  23. "Yesterday was Groundhog Day and the State of the Union Address. As Air America Radio pointed out, it is an ironic juxtaposition: one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication and the other involves a groundhog." That made me laugh, thought I'd share.
  24. Setting up a "democracy" over there is like painting over rust. It may look good for a short time but it has no long term positive effect. Not that I'm in favor of democracy anyway but that's a whole different story. The founders were brilliant men who had some amazing ideas but more importantly the fledgling nation itself was capable of self governance due to their religious convictions. That was what enabled them to throw off the rule of GB and establish their own form of government. I do not believe that freedom can be given, only taken. When the country does what is right I'll support it, when it does wrong I'll oppose. "My country wrong or right" is the kind of attitude that enabled Hitler. No doubt there were plenty of nice Nazi's who simply followed orders. I'm not attacking anybody, don't take it personally.
