WickedWild
What brand/style U-joint do you use/recommend in the half shafts of the R200 rear end? I'm asking because I seem to go through a set every year and have broken one once. Thanks in advance.
Hybrid240z
Charmin...Oh, the other rear. I coudn't resist. My car will be down for a while till I finish my swap but I'm planning on installing CV half-shafts. Have you thought about using CV shafts. Maybe some of the guys with CV shafts can post up on durability with them in high HP Zs. Marcos
Guest Aaron
If I remember correctly, the Nissan U-joint was prefered. The angles of the halfshafts are critical to their longetivity. Some members have raised their diff to help with the angles. The CV joints are more durable in situations where the angles are more extreme. WickedWild
Yea I had to raise up the rear diff a little and the raise the suspension a lil to make it a perfect line across, but still when I squat on launch the angles go bad again. So far the best thing I have been able to find are the brute foce.
Phantom
I'm using the Spicer "Brute Force" half-shaft universals with my R200 LSD & LS1. RAised the Diff about 5/8-3/4" to help with contact patch when car squats but still get the 'hop'. Just not quite as soon.
Guest zfan
I use the brute force spicers and have yet to break one but now that I have said that you can bet I will snap one at SE4 meet Now I think I will bring a spair rebuilt half shaft. I raised my diff. approx. 3/8" If I remember right. I think I copied Pete's idea. Mike

Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
I have heard good things about the Spicer Brute Forces. When I get new ones for my Z they will probably be my choice.
