  1. No John, I was not aware that you now have to be a donating member to post things for sale. I have been a donating member in the past on numerous times, and even contributed to the wind tunnel test if that means anything now...
  2. First off… it’s been a long time since I’ve been back in here, the sight looks great! But the reason for my return after such a long absence. I’m in the process of finishing up a Silvia conversion on a 240sx and preparing to move 800 miles south. I’m selling my Jeep, probably my motorcycle, and my DD240sx so I don’t need a semi to move. But my Z has been hibernating in a barn for the last 4 years. I’m not 100% sure I want to sell it, but I might have too. Basically I’ve come to the conclusion that if someone on HybridZ wanted it, I would sell knowing it’s going to a good home. I’m not even sure what I would price it at, I’m hoping for advise/condolences from some fellow Z members… Here’s the info… ’78 280Z was a sbc 305 w/5spd (pulled the engine and sold it) EVERYTHING else is still complete. If I had a turn key Small block I could have it together & running in a week. It’s lowered with coilovers (sectioned rear struts) all bushings replaced with polyurethane, Honda rim adapters. The bad… Interior has gotten a case of Barn mold, first time it happened Lysol cleaned it all up, but it’s back from sitting in the dark. And the only rust on the car is under the battery (typical). Advise, interest, ideas on price, questions??? link for pics
  3. Gen I MR2 Great gass milage and fun to drive.
  4. In my quest of doing a Silva conversion I have traversed many travesties in my procuring the engine. My first SR20det was a blacktop supposedly a fresh rebuilt full swap, turned into a picked though 5yr carcass with rusty valves and water in the pan. The second ones oil pan told the story of brass bushings in its oil pan. The 3rd and hopefully last was imported by Racer98, I have to say I’m impressed. The engine arrived clean and checked through, I told him of my previous dilemmas and has gone that extra step in communication and just simply hooked me up. So I recommend this guy and here are the pics of the engine…

  7. I recently got screwed over royally in purchasing a S13 Blacktop Sr20det. Took the kid 3 months to ship from payment, found out the fresh rebuild was 5yrs old (never started), and a hodgepodge of missing parts. He’s claming the (some) of the parts I’m missing were in a box that disappeared from one of the pallets during shipping and I need to gather prices for a UPS claim. If anyone can direct me to a Nissan OEM JDM supplier or can give me “official” prices that I can fax into UPS I would greatly appreciate it. Here is the basic list… 1992 Nissan Sr20DET Complete intake manifold from throttle body to engine block (sensors, injectors, rail, ect) Bell housing bolts Flywheel bolts Intake manifold bolts I’m also basically missing all of the sensors but have a complete wire harness & ecu (BTW bolts includes studs & nuts) Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Josh
  8. I just run an upconvert to the 1080P that my 42" LCD Flat runs on.
  9. Just read this today... http://www.japantoday.com/jp/news/428382
  10. I ran a 305 for 2 years in a '78 280z After a complete rebuild with flat tops, head work, and a cam swap I ran it for 500 more miles before I pulled it out and sold it. Save the greif and the $$$ go for the 350. Besides if you ever get a lil more hunger you can turn it into a 383, not an option with the 305.
  11. I've been screaming this for a year! I want a hatch back sky with a tubo echotec or LS2... They have all the parts, they have the market for this car, but we get the Colbolt...
  12. Been there... sitting on jack stands again. The beautiful thing about a project car is that if you don’t have to “feed it”. Instead of selling it and regretting it latter, getting another project and putting more $$$ into that, store it. Put storage insurance on it, set it on the back burner for a bit and RELAX You have a new baby and that is everything right now, money and time are limited and concentration is deminished. That will change, trust me. Latter down the road start collecting the parts you will need for it’s resurrection and the $$ won’t feel as bad when it’s a part here & there…
  13. Bad injector, $20 for an Altima injector and it's all good.
  14. I have a Miata, and was shopping for a daily and was looking at a Z31. But I finally decided on a 240sx. I hear you on the must be rwd and 5spd thing, I enjoy driving too much to punish myself with a fwd auto.
  15. new cap and rotor, all good there... see why I'm stumped...
  16. I say it's missing, because if I unplug the wire from the cap and the rough idle dose not change. But I know I'm getting spark into the cylnder. The idle changes when any of the other 3 plugs get unpluged.
  17. In my ’92 240sx I just lost #3, stock KA engine. Compression is at 150 swapped plugs and wires still the same. I just got done cleaning the intake manifold with a slow drip into the intake manifold. How can I test the injector? I did not put any injector cleaner in it, and when I finished the cleaning it ran great. I let it sit for an hour and after starting it up #3 is dead. Suggestions? The plug is black and the rest are white…
  18. I got the car for $2800. When I was driveing the Z32 I was looking at, I was thinking $10k and it still needs a lot. If I put $10k in this I will have sooo much more... Thanks Thugz I'll look into those forums.
  19. This is my second '92 240sx, I had a black one 8 years ago. I'm planning on polly bushings, coil overs, better brakes then an sr swap. The chassis has 230k on it, but you would never tell from looking or driving it. Everyone guesses 50-70k on millage. No clanks rattles or clunks... No cracks on the dash and no rust on the hatch. Little old lady owned it the whole time for highway driving till she retired. Original engine and tranny, no leaks, grinds, or clatter. Compression clean and even, even the lsd still grabs. If anyone knows of a good 240sx forum please let me know, hard to find "good" info on these.
  20. I drove 200 miles to Ohio to get it, but it was a great ride home. 1992 240sx 5spd lsd slicktop manual windows lightweight. nice clean and solid
  21. My personal opinion... you will have car guys on both sides of the fence. I had a REDneck in a beat up 4cyl Ford Stang ask me "Why the hell did you go and ruin that car boy by putten a V8 in there?" And that was coming from a stereotypical toothless hick. But the owner of the local Nissan dealership (also a collector) loves the swap, and he has Nissan on every wall of his home and restores all OE. Go figure... Wait where was I going with this? Ahh we shouldn't stereotype the car guys, I think?
  22. If thats legit, I will let you all know...
