Guest Red_Devil
Hey guys, I've been reading this forum for some time. and the diffrent things I see you guys do is still ....wow! So I was down at the nissan dealer the other day looking at the new titan, and it struck me. This time nissan has a V8 now the Vk56DE ,with 305 ponys, and 379 lbs of torqe this would be a cool swap if you had the money and a just wreacked titan! what do you people think of the out landish thought? Guest Aaron
The idea was tossed around here about a year ago. Mixed feelings. Many felt that the engine would not have too much torque and would not rev high enough to run well with the available gears in a Z. I personally would love to see the swap happen. Guest Red_Devil
Okey, What kind of gears do the Z have? and the torque more then most in stock form. ya if I had the change laying around it would be done in a heart beat.

Guest zedder
I wouldnt put it in an early zed because an lt1/ls1 swap would be way easier and cheaper imagine trying to get performance parts to use this engine to its potential. I would be awsome if infinity had the balls to put it in the G35 coupe or imagine a G56 sedan, now that would be a sleeper.
twoeightythreez
Hey I'm not trying to sound opinionated, so here goes. In the truck comparos, the Titan beats out the Ram in 0-60, and the Ram's "newschool" hemi edged it out in the 1/4 by a TENTH OF A SECOND. Not enough torque, INDEED . The titan tested was a full-tilt 4x4 crew cab, weighing 5,400 lb. 0-60 took 7.4 seconds. Imagine what it could do in a Z car! Btw the redline of the titan's v-8 is higher than the LS-1's Can't rev high enough? OoooooKay. The G56 idea would be AWESOME esp. with a 6-speed. Nissan are you listening>? j260z
the titan engine is a 5.6 litre 32 valve aluminum block with 6 bolt mains!! if the stock 305 hp, 379 lb ft of torque isn't enough i'm sure the block could handle at least another 300 hps easily. i think someone (someone being someone with more money than me) should seriously try this swap. Drax240z
I think it would be a neat swap too. An early Z would haul butt with one of these. Granted bang for the buck, a SBC or L6 Turbo is a cheaper way to get 300hp. But I'd still be interested in the Titan V8 swap. I'm not advocating keeping it all Nissan, but I like it when people pop the hood and ask "so what did you do?" Or just walk on not even noticing that something is odd... Guest vegeta
I agree, that would be an awsome swap if someone could pull it off. Hey, what about the VK45DE engine in the Infiniti Q45 sedan (which is badged as a Nissan something-or-other in Japan)? Anyone ever heard of anyone who swapped it into a Z? It's also DOHC v8, 4.5 liters, with 340 hp in stock form. Probably a little more compact than the truck engine=easier to swap. Just thinking out loud...
