Guest ON3GO
this might sound kinda stupid as my Z isnt 100% done and im talking about getting another project car. but hear me out. ill be leaving houston to live back in florida in feb of 2005.. ill be living with my parents again untill i figure out what to do when im there.. like job, etc etc etc.. also so i can save up and get my own place. so if i get a good job there maken enough money to live on but the good thing is i wont have any rent to pay or bills really. so that leaves me with some extra cash. also when i move back the Z will go back on the jackstands to be kinda 100% completed.. as in EVERYTHING done that i want done.. so ill need another car to drive around in. heres my choices... SC300 or MR2 Turbo.... I really just want a modern BADA$$ car that will be a long term project car that i can drive everyday and take the girls out in and etc. i dont want to make it sound like my Z isnt anything to me.. it is.. its my baby... its hard to explain but its "my" car.. a car i just wanna drive alone and race and break and rebuild and etc. the Z will never be "100%" done as in everybodies cars here. anyways i picked these two cars because they have style, nice aftermarket and both can make BIG power. i would do a 1JZ-GTE swap in the SC300 and i dunno about the MR2 yet. so guys which of the two would you pick? mike

Guest ON3GO
well i am.. i have a motor and trannys and etc for it and alot of other parts but thats another project... which is a budget project. im just trying to deside on either the SC300 and MR2. mike
BayAreaZT
If it were me, I would go with the SC300. I've been wanting one of these for a while too. The MR2 is nice but it is too similar to the Z. The SC300 is more of a luxo grand tourer but it does share a lot of parts with the supra. The back seats may come in handy with the ladies also
CruxGNZ
Mike, hands down, the Lex! One of my favorite body styles, it's sexy kinda. Oh and not to mention the Supra engine bolts right in 8) Personaly, for me the Mr. two is two small for me, kind of moving up in the world (getting older), need bigger stuff, not so cramped. I found woman feel the same way. They go from "oh, it's so small, it's cute" to "can I have a can opener to get in this thing?" Which actually can be taken two different ways : Imagine jett'n down the road in your Lex... people drivin' by say'n, "that cat is so money, he doesn't even know it" 8) !M! Tim240z
A project that makes me soil myself everytime I think about it: 69-71 Opel GT - 20B-TT, 5 speed total sleeper....nothing fancy, just 600hp of rotary scream!!! Oops there I go again...need to get a towel!
Guest bastaad525
If it were me, I would go with the SC300. I've been wanting one of these for a while too. The back seats may come in handy with the ladies also I agree with BayArea. If I didn't already have my 240, I would have choses the MR2 Turbo over the Lexus, but if you've already built a fast 240 it kinda seems redundant to build another fast, small 2 seater. And the MR2 is even more cramped than a Z!!! As Mikelly also stated I know they do have a reputation for breaking stuff, as well. The Lexus is gonna cost more in every respect, both to purchase and to hotrod it, but you will get what you pay for, in a fast, comfortable, luxurious car. And definately more of a lady-catcher Of course, if I really had the money, time, and will to do another car, it would end up being another Z, anyways! My dream garage consists of 3 240's, one built N/A, one built turbo, and one with a V8 also preferably one of them a convertible, a 93-94 300zxtt, and a 350z or any combination thereof! Guest ON3GO
well im still leaning towards the SC300.. but im still open to you guys ideas and etc. i really dont care if the lexus cost more and etc.. its not like im gonna be shelling out the cash right away for everything. but also this car wont see jackstands at all. its drive and mod type of car, unless when i do the body work and engine swap.. then ill drive something else for the time being. something like a 550rwhp SC300 just sounds sweet. mike
john kosmatka
I would go with the SC300. Put a supra motor in and leave everything else stock, besides the motor. Would make for a really nice daily driver.
Guest ON3GO
well i would mod it up big time.. in the neighborhood of around 550+rwhp but the car would have A/C climite control, nice crazy sterio, maybe a TV in the dash, leather, carpet, headliner, have nice paint, wony smell like a 29 year old car, and really reliable. i would re do the suspension and brakes and etc but with quailty stuff, was thinking about that in car adjustable Tein coilover setup! hehe mike
