Guest wolfztech04
Hello, everyone. I just recently purchased a 1983 280ZXT. The car is 100% original. I'm looking to improve the power of the car. I would like to start the mods with a FMIC and BOV. Does anyone have any recomendations of how to accomplish this without spending alot of cash? I would also like to know if anyone knows where I can purchase a Downpipe that's not as restrictive as the stock one. I'm willing to have the rest of the exhaust custom fabricated, but the stock DP has to go. Thank you for your help.
Guest ON3GO
search and thee shall find... your questions are the most asked ones on this forum. ill help ya out there.. and also welcome to the site! NPR intercoolers are the cheapest and best for the price. also Volvo ones. search Ebay for these.. NPR's come in different sizes too. do you want a aftermarket bov or just want one???? a cheap and good one to use is a stock one from the 1st gen DSM eclipse or talon. downpipe.... well you have to have one made or make it your self, not hard. good luck with ur new car... mike
frank280zx
From what i hear...stay out of the Volvo IC's the flow is not all that, NPR's are great though check my site http://www.datsun280zx.tk to see what i'm doing Easiest thing is raising the boost to about 10 PSI with no IC yeat, then IC etc...search and see
slownrusty
3.0" exhaust for sure....don't kid yourself, this is the no.1 thing to do, even if you were to never touch your car ever again. Inexpensive as well. Yasin
frank280zx
I'm all down with the 3" though the most bang for the buck is a cheap Boost controller ( at $7 at grainger 'grainger valve) or for like 10 on ebay, jank it in there set it at 10 and off you go. you might want to buy a aftermarket boostgauge, since the stock unit just is a nice ad on in the dash!! though if you look in the archieves for JEffp, he made a system that added 20 HP on stock car! Guest ZmeFly
The first thing I would do before anything is, make sure the car is in good tune. Then after your sure the car is in excellent running condition, then start to mod. No use to mad a car thats not in tune. With that I would say first and foremost, the complete 3 inch system, most definetly. Then IC and bov and boost controller and maybe a hybrid turbo and larger injectors
