Guest Neill
Hi I've asked this elsewhere, but havn't had much joy, so I thought I'd ask it here. I have a strange rear end (<ahem>) noise coming from my standard 1987 non-turbo 300zx. After driving around for a while (the noise isn't there when starting cold, I think), if I stop at traffic lights, and then move off in low gear, there's loud rubbing/dragging/scraping type noise from the back read (right hand side, I think), of the car... as soon as I'm in 2nd or 3rd, it goes away... I took it into a multi-storey today, and going up the levels in first gear I was accompanied by the noise all the way, more or less. Any thoughts? Thanks Neill neill.lambert@cutthisbitout.stud.umist.ac.uk
datsunlover
Hmm.. check the C/V shafts and joints.. maybe a cracked/riped boot or something... or maybe the rear brakes are grabbing a bit? Dono man.. I'd say jack the thing up, take the tire off and give evrything (brakes, suspension, cv shafts, ecs) a good looking over for signs of damage/problems.
