Guest Kroi300
I have a small block chevy 350 bored 60 over and a Wylen blower to go on it, no tranny yet though. I've seen pictures of an 85' 300zx with a small block chevy. I know it must be custom done, but i want to know how to do it. What tranny should I use, what modifications should be done to the rear end or anything else to do it?
utvolman99
SBC blown in a 85' 300zx, how do I do it? Take it out of gear and hold the gas to the floor. Should blow quickly! Really though, you may want to do a search for V8 300 Z on this site and on Yahoo. The SBC 300ZX has been done before but not by that many. Guest Aaron
My dad solid mounted the 400SBC in his '84. Front plate was made from a piece of 2x6 angle cut to go around the timing cover bolted to the motor and to the frame on each side of the car. For the trans mount, we took the stock crossmember, moved it to a different set of holes in the trans tunnel (about 1" back) and welded som ears to it to bolt the trans to. Guest Aaron
He used a TH350 for his. It is a drag only car. Your choice will depend on the use. If it is going to be street driven much, you will want an overdrive.
EvilRufusKay
In answer to your sig...As much as I like the 300z it is not comparable to a 69 Camero. Probably opened myself up for a beating but...The Camero will have a much greater resale value down the road. Especially if you are talking about customizing the 300 to the point that it becomes worth something only to you and a very few others. Just my 2 cents. Good Luck!!! Guest Kroi300
my camaro is decked out to the max. its a 40,000 dollar car and theres not really much I can do to it, I've tried, I've done just bout everything. Its got a 468 BBC pushin 550 hp with relatively the same torque with NOS added. It runs on a turbo 400 GM transmission with 373 gears in the rear. the engine is all chrome and I've had the car for bout 6 years and I'm thinking bout selling it, and customizing somethin else, but I'm not sure yet. But I thought bout a 300zx with a blown v8 would be just bad ass.
