stony
ok i see alot of people are using th350 and 400s... i couldnt find anything using search so maybe this is good. Is there any hammering involved in auto swap ie installing a TH400 in a 260 Z?

QWKDTSN
Not that I'm contributing anything, but I'd imagine that using that tranny on an RB as you're planning, the spacing will be different than if you were using it on the V8 it was built for... I'm assuming that's why you're asking the question... if so, I'd say it's hard to tell without getting the tranny hooked up to the motor and sliding it in. Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
I've heard some say there might be clearance issues, and I have heard others say that a 700R4 will fit without hammering. I believe a TH400 is not as big in the top as a 700R4 is. I'm surprised no one has given you the standard "why not use a 700R4" question yet. Depending on when you will be doing the swap, if no one else gives you an answer, I may be able to take some measures for you. I will have my TH400 out of my truck pretty soon during the engine swap in my truck.
