240Z-DET
Regarding the installation of a T56 to an older GM V8, is it possible to utilize a 153 tooth flywheel using the stock bellhousing? I cannot find a clear cut answer to this question in the search function. I ask because I want to use a Quarter Master organic dual disc clutch with a hydraulic throw out bearing. The TO bearing will also serve as the slave cylinder according to Quarter Master. Is the reason one cannot use the stock clutch due to clearance issues? If so, this maybe a viable solution. The dual disc set up can hold 600 ft lb of torque and should have a fairly light pedal engagement.

GAZRNR
In short no. The stock bellhousing on a T56 uses a puller type clutch.
Guest MarksM
With the LS1 in 98, they went to a standard type clutch layout.
