Guest timhypo
More details on the sidepipes if you don't mind. I assume the come out underneat the car. What kind of headers are you running? What kind of work did you have to do to make them fit? Any cutting? I REALLY wanna run sidepipes on my 240. You have a very clean nice car. Phantom
Is that a fuel pressure gauge I see in front of the air cleaner in pic #3? Nice to see you are running fully instrumented. It really helps when troubleshooting.
Guest shortyz
the sidepipes were ordered through a small shop in langley here. its out of business now, i know they were ordered from cali and took 6 weeks to get in. they were ordered from sorta like a car kit from a cobra. headers are just block huggers, they goto a 3" downpipe then the cutouts are there and the 3" continues out the side of the car and welded to the sidepipes. all mandrel bent also. it sounds wicked. right now the rear end is screwed up its growling like hell when i let off the gas i got a extra r180 around here so imma go have that looked at and throw that new one in. Guest shortyz
guys. question. now there is a z guy round here his backyard is full of cool stuff and he sez it is almost impossible to find a r200. do you need to buy the kit and stick it in the r180 housing or what. would i benefit or would it be beter to stick with non-lsd
Guest Anonymous
Get a R200 and a 280 mustache' bar because it is a lot stronger than a 180 or slip in a R 200 with cv joints out of a turbo ZX .You will find the LSD in a 1987-89 300ZX Turbo (stay away from the all white 300 ZX becuz it has an inferior posi unit) You can also kit a R 200 I am very interested in the SBC 302. Original parts? or did you build it up and with what crank, block, rods? Any performance figures on it.
Guest shortyz
nope didnt built it up. basically got the motor and heads apart from the same guy. got the heads and motor for about 500$ which was a steal cause i know how hard those engines are to find. i have heard of guys taking this engine up to 7 grand??!?!?! ive only had it to 5krpm and it started to pull like nothing ive felt lol. havent had it on the dyno yet, its only got about 40km on it. still working little bugs out.. need a new ignition, should i go with msd? i had a CRANE but it suckeD!!!! got another car sitting out 240z with flare kit, coil overs stripped, 400sbc with stick is going in there. cant wait for the tq that sucker makes. Guest shortyz
intake is a wieand stealth. edelbrock carb. i had so much trouble with tuning holleys ARG!!! ill never go back. slap the edelbrock on and go! the pipes are made for like a custom truck with pipes going vertical. like a cemi truck. i got some more pics of cutouts and headers just needa put em on the comp how much u want for the r200 my bro has one im stealing for now to replace this poo 180. but i gotta get him another heeh
Guest shortyz
also that intake is what we call a home depot daily special. 2 6" flexible ducts. 2 venting ducts that come outta your floor in your home. they are screwed to the filter and the rest is sealed with a strip of sheet metal. does anyone like it?
