Guest Anonymous
i resently picked up a 1989 chey 350.i've built alot of ford motors, but i don't know that much about chevys.the 350 had flat tops or at least they look like flat tops, they are flat with valve indinchenes on both sides,i got a 280h cam,its been bored .40 an looks like some head work done.i got a eldbroc preformer intake, with a holley 650 double pumper.can anyone tell me what kind of horse power this motor should have?i'm going to run it in a 1977 280z.i'll be running a turbo 350 behind it.i also wondered what kind of rear end gears the 77 has stock,it was a 5 speed trans.any info will help thanks
Mike C
The 77 should have 3.54 gears. Your motor with the cam and stuff might be 275 hp. The cam is all wrong for those heads, IMO as I stated in the other post. The performer and 650 Holley are both also good for a motor up to around 300hp.
