scott19
I'm gonna be putting 15x8.5" wheels on all four corners of my 260 here soon, with 245/35/15 tires mounted on them. What problems am I gonna run into on the front, in respect to alignment, ball joints, etc.? Should I be anticipating mods to accommodate them? ( BTW, fender and spring clearance is not an issue)
blueovalz
You shouldn't experience any issues with this set-up unless you've gotten a long ways off from a zero offset wheel (cannot ever remember if + is out or in) moved toward the outside. scott19
It does seem the extra width is biased toward the outside, because the wheels stick out 2 inches past the stock fenderwell, while still maintaining clearance on the inside. The wheels are the Carroll Shelby panasport type, which I'm moderately sure came off a Z with the full Jim Cook California flare kit. Would the offset be stamped on the wheel, or do I just measure it to find out?
blueovalz
I'd hazard a guess that you'll be about 1" offset here. Not ideal, but it shouldn't cause any bad problems. Depending on your camber adjustment, you may experience some slight steering feedback under braking on uneven pavement.
scott19
Thanks, Terry. I'm not so worried about feedback and such. These 245/35/15's are hard to come by, and I don't want them eaten up anytime soon.
