Phantom
There doesn't appear to be a shortage of reasonably priced LS1 & LS6 engines with either the T56 or the 4L60E on Ebay. There is, of course, the standard risk factor with used engines from far away. With that many listed, though, that should be an indication of potential local availability. Prices look much better than when I got mine too. What got me was the 500+HP LS6 currently going for under $3k.
grumpyvette
there are several DIFFERANT scams involving engines on EBAY, you might want to stay away from anyove that won,t accept a credit card or pay pal, simply becuase if you use them and never recieve the engine you MIGHT be able to get your money back send cash or a cashiers check or money order or check and the guy sends you any piece of junk and you accept it your screwed!! http://www.clubcobra.com/t47642.html http://www.chevytalk.org/threads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB17&Number=790019&Forum=UBB17&Words=scam&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Old=1year&Main=789877&Search=true#Post790019
Savage42
As mentioned, you do have to be careful with some of them. The last LS6 I saw on there was a stock one with a few thousand miles on it and it went for $7k, for just the engine assembly, no transmission. Makes you wonder.
