Guest lethalchem
Hello all, I'm in the process of considering a Z purchase to make into an autocross car. I've never owned anything but mustangs before, so I'm almost positive I'll want to do a V8 swap. My main concern is the ease of bringing it up to running condition. It's a 1978 280z, all stock. Seller said it's probably got over 200,000 miles on it. My main question is about parts. If I purchase this and find it needs parts, are they going to be difficult to locate? I'd prefer to put new parts in instead of wandering junk yards for weeks. Is there a decent aftermarket for these cars?
Phantom
Go to http://www.zcarparts.com and order a catalog. Several other after market suppliers plus your local Nissan dealer or car parts place can still get a lot of the parts you may need.
gwheeler
I wouldn't be concerned about parts availability or prices. There are millions of Zs out there.
Guest lethalchem
Perfect. Just what I needed to hear. It looks like it will be a fun little car, and I'm excited about it. I autocross my current car, but it's really too big and the mods put it into a pitiful class for competing. This Z looks like it will be a blast. Mudge
Some parts will set you back major $ (LSD rear end) or will be junkyard only, some of the reproduction prices are $ as well.
