Ok, i want to buy a early 240z that doesnt have nice pain, but has nice glass. THe body must be rust free and reasonably dent free. The interior can be crap, but the dash must be mint. It must run well with no problems and no oil leaks. How much should i pay for something like this?

i baught a shitty car for my project, after the paint episode, i decided i cant live withoug my Z any longer, so im buying another to replace this one while it is getting finished. I got my current z for next to nothing, because it was basically a stock running car without any interior accept the drivers seat...no dash. I just dont want to over pay for my next car. Actually, im thinking about getting rid of my current car and buying this next car to make a daily driver.

Your not asking for much are ya?

What your looking for then is a restored Z or one thats been in storage forever. If you can find a 240Z with a good drivetrain(no leaks and runs perfect), has a none cracked dash, and the body is rust free.......then your probably not going to be in the area that I would call a cheap car. If you were looking for a 280Z you might be able to get what you want cheap but I doubt your going to get a 240Z in that kind of condition cheap. I would say be prepaired to spend $3500+ easy. The rust free part is the part that will really make the value of the car go up! :D

What kind of price range are you in?

im looking for around $3500 canadian(i live in BC, Canada). I smashed up my daily driver(cavalier) so im hoping to be able to get another Z with the money i get from that. I miss my Z, i should never have taken it off the road and started messing with it until i had all the parts needed to get it to the point i want it. Oh well, lesson learned. It doesnt have to be completely rust free, it just cant have rust in the important places like the floors and frame rails. I dont mind replacing a 1/4 panel or fender or whatever, but i want to have it a structurally sound as possible.
