vashonz
I just got stationed in south carolina, and am wondering what kind of automotive events happen down here. I've heard that theres a new really good race track in georgia. I don't have a car down here yet, but in another month I'll either be buying one or having my Z brought over. Pop N Wood
From your subject line, my first response would be "your sister". But that would be a callous, derogatory, stereotypical and totally untrue misrepresentation of our southern states. Hope I haven't offended anyone. Guest Anonymous
In Kershaw SC nice little road course called carolina motorsport park. Near Atlanta GA is road atlanta. Great track and near Atlanta which is a fun place. Lowes motor speedway is near Charlotte NC. Big oval, great NASCAR races. In Virgina on the NC VA boarder is VIR. World class road course. All ofthese places have track days and DE events that you can drive yur car on the track.
Guest 73TPIZ
Are you in Columbia (Fort Jackson)? Sumter (Shaw)? Here's the road course in Kershaw (near Camden) mentioned before. http://www.carolinamotorsportspark.com It's prob 30 min from columbia Dragstrips http://www.darlingtondragway.com http://www.rockinghamdragway.com http://www.carolinadragway.com Darlington, SC is the one i frequent. T&T every Wed nite. Prob ~ 1 hr east of Columbia. Rockingham, NC is prob ~2hrs from Columbia. T&T on Fri & Sat most weeks. I go there a good bit also. Carolina is in Aiken, SC (really Jackson, SC). ~1 hr west of Columbia. Went once, nice track. 6hr round trip for 3 passes sucked though. (Bracket and T&T on same nite). PM me a cell # or something as i'm in sumter and colu all the time with my slow, primered P.O.S. Hey Pop N Wood, no offense taken. Helps to trace the family tree that way. No branches, just trunks Later
vashonz
I'm in Charleston right now, and it will be atleast a month before I get a car. After that I'm definitely going to check out some of the tracks.
Guest 73TPIZ
Charleston my favorite city in SC as far as things to do. Not much in-state for excitement so you lucked out as far as cities go, but you may have gotten hosed as far as states go. I'm 2hrs north of you on hwy 52. My claim to fame is that i've gotten a speeding ticket in every city between Lake City and Charleston in my early days when i was dating a girl going to M.U.S.C. SC is slack on Z Clubs but found this info on Low Country Z Club. Met a couple of their members at the last SEZS in GA. Seem like good guys. Says membership is 10 but may be old info.
