Guest Z-rific
My salvage yard has hooked me up with a 350 and it is gorgeous. Completely degreased, painted fire engine red (my choice), chrome valve covers, oil pan and other little parts. Here's what I was told about the engine... Came from a friends truck and was recently rebuilt. 4 bolt mains. It has a "mild" aftermarket cam. Also has very few miles on it. And that's all I know for the time being. I checked the casting #'s. Engine is from 77-79 and came with 2 or 4 bolt mains. # is 14016379. Engine has a Performer manifold, very clean Quadrajet and Super Competition Hooker Headers. Assuming the internals are stock and the heads are original, anybody care to guess how much HP this baby is laying down? I'll find out more about it in the next week or so. I'm working on a website, and I have pics of it and my 78Z. It should be up and running (website) within the week.
Guest zfan
Probably close to 300 hp if I had to take a guess. Mike
DavyZ
250 hp to 275 hp --and that is a very educated guess, compadre. If you ever have that thing dyno'd, let us know what they say, but that should be about about right for a relatively 'stock' motor. It'll make your Z car scream too. Torque, baby, torque.
