mark Posted June 23, 2004 Share Posted June 23, 2004 I have the engine in the car and test fit the alternator. Alt. has a black plastic cover on the back that interfers with the datsun engine mount tower. Any one else had this problem? Anyone know the answer? I thought that you where not going to uses Johns car kit because of the WRX power steering? If you make your own mounts move the motor back 1-2" over the Johns car kit. mark Posted June 23, 2004 Author Share Posted June 23, 2004 Mike, Thanks for the confirmation. I decided to use John's mounts and hack up the drivers side mount. Should work out OK. Not having to remove as much material as I thought and I'll replace the removed parts with different shaped steel to restore structure and allow the steering colum to fit.
