Guest RCNSC
I must admit, I hate 280ZXs. They're so busy and very 80s soooooooooooo heres my solution (to the front at least) Inspired by "some Italian car" Feedback?
DatsunATX
Put it on 240Z and its perfect I think it looks good
Guest Hubbo
Have fun trying to duct it. And I hope you get enough air flow.

Guest Hubbo
Very nice... Would you leave the bonnet smooth or have a rise?
Guest RCNSC
For demonstrative purposes I just didnt draw the hood out. It draws away from the bumper and the combination of the hood mound, turbo vent, and little slats..... its just too damn much for one hood IMO. Sven
Man, I'm really diggin' your sketches! Keep it up. That S30 rearend is very close to my plans for the '77...

CruxGNZ
I'm another fan of your scetches. Would you try putting that same front end treatment on a S30? Maybe draw in some type of grill for the ducts on each side? Now wouldn't it be cool if you could just scan the final drawing into a computer and some machine would make it for you? 8) !M! There ya go, not sure if thats what you wanted. Im going to draw up some G-Nose style variants tomorrow. Theres only so much you can do with the US front end... its all been tried at one time or another. And yea, that would be pretty cool. Drftn280zxt
Dang man you draw better than me. Take some classes in college or something or did you just start over many times. The drawings below thisare about as good as mine get at the moment plus I'm only 18 years old. I'm diggin your sketches man. I keep having problems trying to draw a 240Z (mostely on the windows). I mean you get those lines merely perfect. I wish I could draw that nice. Guess I need more practice.

Drawing the 240 windows aren't that hard, and its not to say that I do it well..... Most of these are just really fast 5 min sketches. Putting it on paper has always been easy for me. I put way more thought into this kind of crap than I should, seeing as its next to impossible for me to make them a reality. When it comes to drawing stuff like the 240Z windows, just imagine it in real life. Really upright windshield and getting side windows right at an angle takes practice. I havn't taken an art class since 8th grade, but I like screwin around with the pencil and pad.
Drftn280zxt
my problem is that I don't really enjoy drawing cars that already exsist (sp?). I'm a concept car dude, I like to make cars up from scratch. Maybe I should do a cartoony drawing of the 240Z first, seems to work with other pre-exsisting cars I draw. My car drawing frenzy didn't really take until 8th grade, prior to that I did planes (futuristic planes). Didn't have a real passion for it so I started the cars. Maybe if I didn't worry so much about getting details right I'd be better at drawing these "real" (Z's)cars.
Guest Hubbo
If you'd like a more modern 280zx, how about this sketch I found (Ultimate Zed website): It was on the Ultimate Zed website so I presume its someones sketch of a Zed, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was of another car (kinda looks like a Jag). I think that was the original design idea for the 350Z if I'm not mistaken. I still want the the car to noticeably look like a 280ZX. Not some completely different car (just brought up to the 21st century looks and technology). If I wanted a seriously drastic change I'd be better off designing the next gen Z. Guest Hubbo
If that was one of the designs for the 350z I would have much prefered it over the current one. For one... it looks like a Zed. Drop in a V12, and we'll call it a twin-straight six. 8)
Drftn280zxt
If you ask me I think that the 350Z looks better than that drawing as far as looking Z-ish. That drawing looks like a JAG thus gicing NISSAN a reason to chuck it.

Drftn280zxt
steveo it looks somewhat similar but is more ferrarish. What ever floats your boat. I guess those fog likes just make it look completely different to me.[/u]
