datsunlover
Ok so Im kinda poor and cant afford even 15" rims, so I'll be rolling on the 14" 6 spoke Z's for now. (they look good though all shined up, and they're original so thats something.. ) Anyway, the tires on them now are leaking, bald, and to top it off, they are only 185/60/14. Yah. Not fun! So I found a deal on a set of 'almost new' 14s; 215/60/14. They look close to the proper hight, but really wide to me.. (especially compared to the tiny 185's!) Before I buy them up though, I need to know if they'll rub on the strut/spring perch's. This may sound dumb, but it looks pretty tight in there to me so I dono... The car is a 75 280z with stock suspension. I did a search, but can't find much about 14" tire size's... Anyone know?
waynekarnes
go to tire rack, put in the size of the tire, when it comes up, click in specs. should take you to a page shows, diameter, section width, contact width. a 205/60/14 will fit fine. i would imagine that the 215/60/14 will fit fine. i have konig rewinds on mine ... 14 x 7, with a 3 inch offset, running 225/60/14 on the rear, 215/60/14 on the front. no issues. at the wreckers, i have seen 225/60/14's on the 6 spokes, fit fine. looked like bulging donuts on the 6 inch rim. thing is, the 6 inch rim is a little narrow for a tire that size. you'd be at about the limits with a 215/60/14 on there. wayne
datsunlover
Yah, thats what I figured. I had an 85 200sx a few years back, and I was running 215/60/14's on these same 6 spoke rims. (theres a story behind these rims... they've been around a while! ) I wanted to put 225's on, but I went to a used tire place and they tried one.. blech.. looked weird, and unsafe too.. But the 215's never gave me a prob (except a bit of rubbing.. hence my concerns) Anyway, I just wanted to ask to make sure. The tire place guy figured they'd fit too, so I guess I'll grab em. Thanks man.
Synlubes
215/60/14 will fit fine on 6 - 7" wheels. It`s a good size 14" tire for the car, even one lowered abit.
