Guest bastaad525
I'll keep this one short. Suffice it to say, I've been DYING to 'test' out my new setup (intercooler and FMU installed within the last two weeks, plus upping the boost a few psi). So tonite I finally talked meh wife into coming out cruising with me (which she absolutely hates). Drove for like two hours and only got one riced out honda TRIED to roll on me but someone forgot to tell him the downforce of his 3 foot wing totally cancels out the 50 HP that it gained him . Was about to give up, this is like 1:30 in the morning, no one left on the roads, was on the last leg of the route home and I get this guy and gal rolling in a mid '90's Mustang SVT Cobra convertible... a little riced out with a big wing and some brightly lit autometer guages on the dash... best part of all is the woman was driving! So I figured they wont play... no offense to any ladies but getting them to race is like pulling teeth... but when this one saw me she let on fast that she wanted to do it. Long story short, I KEEEEEELED her Mustang no contest, after I shifted into to second I stuck my arm out the window and waved bye bye to them. At the next light the man was laughing and gave me a peace sign, the woman put the hood of her jacket up Made the whole two hours worth it. Sux I don't know what year the mustang was, I know the last generation SVT's had a pretty big power gap from the older ones to the newer ones in that generation, something like from 250 to 300hp. I didn't expect to win or at least for it to be very close. But then, not knowing what year it was... if it was an earlier one (like '94) it's no surprise I got them so bad... it would have had less hp and outweighed me by about 1000 lbs.... Ah well, still fun as hell
Guest Ground_Rat
Nice kill. So was it a fox body or SN95? The cobras didn't start making real power until '03.
Guest bastaad525
SN95, SVT Cobra. The later ones (around '96) were around 300hp right? I seem to remember reading them being like 305 or 310hp, I dunno I consider that 'real power' And anyways, who's to say this thing was even bone stock? All I could SEE were better exhaust and the autometer gauges on the dash. Ah well... now I'll just go hunt me down an '03 cobra then... think it might be pretty close as long as he's on stock tires I hear they run low 13's but put them on stickies so they can actually stick and they get mid 12's easy.
